The China Center for Adoption Affairs is now through the reviewing of dossiers received before March 31, 2007. We are still kinda a month ahead. Don't get too excited we're still talking a long time left. But there's the update.
Our group is June 2007.
Thought you might want to know.

OK, what happens after the dossier is reviewed? Do you then get on a list for referrals? How long are people on that list?
One month earlier is sure something. If this happens a few more times Avery will be here before you know it.
Good Luck!!
We wait...yes once we're in the room (our dossier that is) we're waiting for the matching with a child...the referral!!! This will probably take 10-12 months.
Like I said...more waiting!!! What's new?
Thanks for the comment!!

Alli,
I love the links that you have put up. They were beautiful.
Hopefull, it will be time to give you a shower soon-maybe they will be easier then.
I have been wondering what a life book is? Is it like a baby book?
Love, Heather

I have decided to do the 100 wishes quilt for Lucas. I found info on my Ethiopia yahoo group. I'll send an invite with Kara on Thursday. I hope when the wishes come in it will help me get through this painful wait. HOW have you done this???? By the time we travel we will have known him for 9 months. This is MUCH harder than 9 months of pregnancy, for sure! How long after your referral can you travel? I hope it's not nine months. If you have any advice for this horrible waiting game please pass it along. I am so sorry to complain to you when you are waiting so much longer, but you are the only one who knows how I feel. Have you thought about starting your next adoption now so the wait can start? (If you are going another one)
Good luck

The wishes and quilt squares definitely help with the wait. We are going to start the assembly this Spring. It is nice to know that family and friends do care enough to do this big little thing for your child...it helps. I don't know how we have gotten through this far. 20 months seems like a long time and it has been, but it's definitely been rough.
Gary is my pillar of strength through this and I'm his. I have bad days...and good days. I have days where I find myself just stopping and saying, "When will this happen?". I just try to keep busy. The Company, the girls, the choreography, my kids at the studio, and quiet time. Sundays are my day of decompressing, I watch movies, and cook. Been cooking a lot lately actually. I also am exercising a lot lately. Try to keep positive, look at Lucas' picture and just know you and your family will be with him soon. I'm sure having the picture is a comfort, but it must make it so hard also. But you can keep his face in your thoughts, and know that he will be in a loving family soon!!
Anytime you want to talk, just give me a call, or we can get together. It is so nice to know someone who is also going through this. We really should use eachother for support more. Can't wait to do a square for Lucas' quilt...how exciting!!

As far as the 2nd adoption, we aren't going to do China..we're actually thinking domestic. But we're going to wait until we have Avery and then decide. We just want her first!!

Thanks for the comment, I love to read new comments, I check a couple times a day to see if someone has left any. A life book is like a baby book. The difference is that since we won't have anything for her first 8-10 months of life to document it, we put a book together about us, and where she'd from, the people that will be in her life. It can really consist of anything. I've been collecting things for it for the last 20 months. I am trying to start it, but need to organize my thoughts more. I'll posy some of it up here when I start.
Thanks again!!
